Question: I haven't started my period by I asked my mum about tampons and she said that they're dangerous because you could loose your virginity if you put them in. Is this true?
Dr. Farah Kroman: Virginity can only be lost with sexual intercourse, not with tampon use. Tampons may affect your hymen but the loss of a hymen does not mean you are not a virgin.
