Teenage Breast Size & Development

Can I make my period come faster & my boobs bigger?

Does boob size change with weight changes?

Boob size

One of my boobs is bigger

Are big breasts normal?

Question: I have had discharge for about two years or more and I still have not got my period. And just my friend was wondering if there is any way to make your period come faster and how to make your boobs grow bigger, faster? Thanks :)

Dr. Farah Kroman: Although periods usually start a year or so after vaginal discharge and breast development, this is not an exact science. Be patient. Its quite normal for periods to start anywhere from 11-16 years of age. Unfortunately breast size cannot be changed by anything you do. Thankfully there are lots of great bras to make you look like you have more (or less) than what you do.

Question: Does weight loss reduce your boob size? I've heard that the first place you lose weight from is your boobs, but do they keep getting smaller the more weight you lose?

Dr. Farah Kroman: Fat does get stored in the breasts – the amount varies from person to person. So yes, weight loss can affect your breast size.

Question: Why do some girls have bigger boobs than others?...I thought it was because of the fat on their bodies.

Dr. Farah Kroman: Breast size is mainly determined by your genetics and also your nutrition (i.e. a healthy balanced diet). Breast development usually starts about one year before your period starts and is one of the earliest signs of puberty. It usually takes 3-5 years to complete. So if you haven’t started your period yet, your breasts still have a lot of developing to do. As hard as it is to not compare yourself to other girls your age, remember that every girl develops in her own time

Question: I don't know what I should be doing about this but one of my boobs are bigger than the other, it makes it difficult when i have to buy bra's because one is a bigger cup size then the other. is this normal?

Dr. Farah Kroman: It is quite normal for your breasts to be different sizes and even to point in different directions. It is actually fairly uncommon for girls to have a pair of evenly matched breasts. Just like one side of your face is slightly different to the other or one foot is bigger than the other, your breasts are usually different to each other. This is most noticeable during puberty when growth is most rapid. Luckily, most girls more or less even out once puberty finishes.

Question: I 'm only and have really big breasts, and I mean 14E size breasts. Is that normal or should I be worried?

Dr. Farah Kroman: Breast size is usually determined by your genes. Does your mother have large breasts? What about your grandmother? Having big breasts can be perfectly normal and just may take some getting used to. Give yourself time. If they really bother you talk with your doctor.
